Same as for LF's campaign that is running.

We were going to take a short period off and were heading to the town where that guy asked us to find his nephew.
Hopefully there's something to do there otherwhise it could be a very boring time ...
One thing is a must to be there and that's a decent inn

Well, now that Felicia found her nailpolish, she'll be looking for new clothes (do you sell hotpink bikini's ?). She'll visit the nearest temple of Lathander, donating some of the treasure she got.

Actually the Baelorn transported you guys to a place about a mile out of Waterdeep. I think there's plenty to find there for a party taking a 3-month leave

The three months will pass uneventfully, giving spellcasters the time to learn/create new spells or create magical items.

Players should subtract 1gp/day for general expenses (food & lodging), for a total of 90 gp.

If there are items still to be ID'ed, just tell me which, with the proper references. There's plenty of time to do that.

Should any of you wish to purchase special, magical or exotic items, please inform me. I will give an appropriate answer in this thread.

As to the next adventure, i'm not quite sure yet, might be that i convert a 2nd edition scenario ... or if anybody has any special requests, I'll be glad to hear them out.

LF, that thought has crossed my mind more than once ... we will see (*EVIL GRIN*)

What I would like is that everyone would hand in an UP-TO-DATE copy of their character sheet. I'll need them to prepare the next adventure ... (and trust me it's for your own good).

I'll surely come to the DND session this weekend, either to play or to pick up the char sheets, so people PLEASE bring a copy of your char in my campaign.

As to suggestions for the next adventure, keep 'em coming.
I have a few ideas, one of them being an undermountain campaign, but only if Jan is OK with that. If I remember correctly he's preparing one of his own.

Another idea is a sequel to POR, but that will be "home-grown" as in outta my own thumb.

Glorfindle, O mighty artificer, dig into your notes and make me an estimate of what the following modifications would cost.

Make that bow I have magical and make it so that I'm blinking as per the wizard spell of the third power I've read so many things about. I can see some nice uses in it.

I guess that making it an permanently active ability would be asking to much of your still young powers. Then again, someone of your renown probably already has quite some magical prowess to work with and most likely is also adept at working and imbueing my selfmade, and dare I say finely crafted masterpiece, composite longbow. You'll see that it's quite nicely finished with only the best materials that I've come across during my travels.

In the event that making that blinking a permanent something would be asking to much (and/or might be too expensive for me) I wouldn't mind if I would be possible to use it perhaps twice a day. I'm sure that would be suffice to get me through a day of adventuring.

Let me know something as soon as you have the finer details of what this would amount too so I can take a closer look at my personal wealth (which usually flows out of my pockets quicker than it gets in them ...)

Then again, perhaps I could repay you with some more interesting things instead of hard coins and/or gems. Maybe books would fit nicely in your personal library, or perhaps some things of more magical nature might be of interest to you.

If you need to contact me, you can find me in the inn or in the near forests, feel free to leave a message there if I'm not around.

Time will tell I guess.

Hoping to hear from you soon,
Galbar

Basically i'm looking for this:

get my Masterwork Composite Longbow, Mighty +3 a magical enhancement to +1 and get the 3rd lvl spell Blink on it. Either be it a permanent effect as long as the bow is wielded or get it as a once/twice/trice a day usuable ability.

What I would like to know:
- costs in money and xp
- ofcourse willing to pay the xp cost if i'm able to do so

Second item I'm considering of trying to obtain is this:

“Decanter of Infinite Healing”

This Elven crafted crystal flask seems about the size as an average potion vial, but far more decorative. As a standard action, you may drink a small amount of positive energy from the flask and gain 1 point of healing. This in all ways mimics drinking from a potion. The flask can heal up to 50 hit points a day before becoming empty, and automatically refills itself at midnight. Although drinking from the flask works normally it is not possible to pour the contents of the flask out, although you can apply it to another person as a full round action, as per normal potions.
Creation Level 1, Craft Wondrous Item, Cure Light Wounds, Price 2500gp;

Again, not sure about pricing. What would be the exact cost in gp/xp?

Here's another little trinket

“Eye of the Demon Eagle”
This bracelet, which is made from the rib bone and eye of a fiendish eagle, is worn on the arm that is used to draw the sting of your bow. When fully drawn the bracelet gives you insight to your attack. This insight bonus to your attack is +4, but it also increases your chance of hitting someone with cover by 10%. So if your opponent had a 25% miss chance do to cover, you would only need a 15% or better to hit them.

Prereq: Craft wondrous items, True Strike(for the (be it a reduced) insight bonus to hit, true strike gives +20 and needed some spell to base it off)
Also a 10% to 25% reduction because it only works with bows and nothing else.
The way I see it, it's something like an aiming device, the eye attached to the bone which is set on a bracelet. The eye sortof used to look through which allows you for a better aim.

If i get it right it should be something like this:

* Bonus to hit squared (4*4)*2000(this being 1(spellevel)x1(casterlevel)x2000(use activated item))=32000 market price
* Creation Cost = MP/2 = 16000
* Reduction due to limited usuability -25% = 16000 - 4000= 12000
* Xp cost = CC/25 = 480 xp

Xp I could pay, the market price or even the Creation Cost would still be a bit out of my budget I'm afraid.

again: could be i've missed several things concerning pricing/calculations

“Entangling Twine”
This inconspicuous ball of twine, when thrown at an opponent (requiring a successful ranged touch attack, with a 10 ft. range increment), animates to entangle the foe. The opponent can escape with a DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The twine has 5 hit points (though piercing and bludgeoning weapons are ineffective in damaging the twine) and can be burst with a DC Strength check (also a full-round action).

Caster Level: 1st;
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, animate rope;
Market Price: 50gp (single use, use-activated effect based on a 1st level spell = 1 x 1 x 50gp);

The item is fairly similar to a tanglefoot bag, which coincidently has the same market value.
Differences between entangling twine and a tanglefoot bag include:
- A tanglefoot bag might glue the target to the floor, which the twine can't.
- Getting out of one or the other could be more or less difficult depending on the circumstances. If the target doesn't have a slashing weapon, for example, the twine is the more difficult to escape from.
- The tanglefoot bag lasts only 2d4 rounds, where the twince lasts until the target escapes or is freed.
- The twine is magical, and therefore prone to being dispelled.

Hell, i am interested in that bracelet too..
why don't ya make a minor verion of it and try to upgrade it later?

I might have some funds to chip in..

Come to think of it, LF wouldn't be able to make it with a +4 modifier anyway. Think I read something somewhere about needing to be lvl X to be able to give Y bonus (was it half? not sure) so reducing that bonus would be a good idea indeed and make it a bit more affordable. On the other hand, not sure if it's possible to upgrade and if it is how one can do so.

Ok, let's recalculate for the bracelet at a +2 bonus, rest remaining the same (assuming that what I had was correct to begin with):

* Bonus to hit squared (2*2)*2000(this being 1(spellevel)x1(casterlevel)x2000(use activated item))=8000 market price
* Creation Cost = MP/2 = 4000
* Reduction due to limited usuability -25% = 4000-1000= 3000
* Xp cost = CC/25 = 120 xp

Now this is starting to look both affordable and still usuable to go with it. All that would be needed now is DM's approval.

Dear Galbar,

Currently I'm versed, at artisan level might I add, in the creation of various wonderous items.

The bow which you are talking about is more a martial application of the creation of Magical Weapons of which I'm getting my attention lateron in my career as it requires a fair amount of Magical Knowledge and abilities, which supersedes our groups currently knowledge and experience.

With the aid of a Cleric I would be able to create such a magical wonder known as a Decanter of Infinite Healing.

The Eye of the Demon Eagle is not as yet in my reach. [ik kan maar tot +2 geraken; het is lvl/3 voor die bonusen dacht ik.] The Lesser version would be within my reach.

The Entangling Twine is an easy feat to create on the other hand.

I do hope you realise that creating wonders like this is a costly affair...

Eagle Bracelet :
----------------
The +2 bonus could be made by LF, the +4 bonus could be manufactured by NPCs.

For the Entangling Twine :
--------------------------
ok for 50 gp a piece

For the Decanter :
------------------
My calculations for the Decanter of Endless Healing.

Craft wondrous item requires a 3rd level spellcaster.

Since 50 pts equals 9 average Cure lights (9 x 1d8+1) at 1st level, I count it having 9 charges a day for determining value.

Since it triggers a spell and can be used over and over it's classifies as use activated
Base Price :
1(spell level) x 1 (caster level) x 2000 gp = 2000 gp.
Special :
9 Charges per day : divide by (5 : charges per day) =
2000 / (5:9) = (2000*9):5 = 3600 gp
No Space Limitation : multiply entire cost by 2 = 3600 * 2 = 7200 gp

So the total price should be 7200 gp.
A decanter of endless water has a cost of 9000 so this seems pretty accurate.

For the bow :
-------------
+1 bonus : 2000 gp
blinking (Craft Magic Arms feat requires 5th level caster) :
Command word activated :
3*5*1800 gp = 27000 gp
1 charge / day : 27000/5 = 5400, total 7400
2 charges / day : 27000/2.5 = 10800, total 12800
3 charges / day : 27000/1.66 = 16265, total 18265
4 charges / day : 27000/1.25 = 21600, total 23600
5 charges / day : 27000/1 = 27000, total 29000

Blinking lasts 5 rounds

Permanent :
Treat as cloak of displacement (same lvl spell, same requirements) = 50000 (i'll divide by 1.25 for being a weapon and not a cloack) = 40000 total 42000

Note:
-----
All these are Market Prices, divide by 2 for self-made items (Creation Cost)and add CC/25 in XP.
