Think the Bombing run in UT2003 is kinda lame ??
Try Death Ball, the new mod. It's 2 teams on a walled soccer pitch playing ... soccer !!!
Your only weapon is the Shield gun and the objective is to get the ball in the opposing team's goal. Players who posess the ball move slower and jump less high. A charge from the shield gun makes you loose the ball. 10 goals wins the match (or if you score more than the opponents in the given time limit). You even have a goal keeper who, in the keeper area is invulnerable. (to keep players from punching the ballout of his hands)
I tried it yesterday and OMG it is fun. I played 1 complete game in which we won 6-1. I Scored 4 goals, among which the 3 first. And yes, the game announced the hattrick. Neat. I must say that (like in soccer) scoring a goal after a well constructed attack and a perfect assist is very satisfying !!!
Needless to say a little tactical (soccer) insight is quite helpfull.
Anyway, go to www.ut2003hq.com (http://www.ut2003hq.com), look under Mods-gametypes and install the thing. Remember to read the readme file, it contains instructions of how to make a new Death Ball category in the lists of Internet servers.
I think this is something nice for the next MP. Just think of it : the WW soccer team
